Niantic just released a press announcement about their latest ban wave in Pokemon GO, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, and Ingress Prime. They report that they have just permanently banned over half a million accounts that were found to be cheating in their AR mobile games. It appears that Pokemon GO and Wizards Unite were the two main targets in this ban wave, as they had a combined amount of over 500,000 banned accounts; which Ingress Prime only received about 22,000.

Niantic also claims that they have rolled out some new technology that allows them to easier see who is using hacked apps to play their games on rooted / jail-broken Android devices. This makes it fairly dangerous for Android users to continue spoofing for the time being in these games. It might be time to switch over to an iOS supported devices now, if cheating is still your thing..
